POINTS TO PONDER

Observations about marriage:

  • Marriages are made in heaven.  But then again, so are thunder and lighting,
  • If you want a spouse to listen and pay strict attention to every word you say...talk in your sleep,
  • Marriage is when a man and woman become one; the trouble starts when they try to decide which one!
  • Man is incomplete until he marries.  After that, he is finished,
  • If a man opens the car door for his wife, either the car or the wife are new!
Note: the editor uses "Points to Ponder" information provided by others; the opinions expressed above are by no means (read carefully Mrs. Editor) those of KEG or this newsletter (hope that gets me off the hook!)

JAKE ABBOTT NAMED TERRITORY MANAGER

KEG is pleased to announce the hiring of Jake Abbott of Oliver Springs, Tennessee as KEG's new Eastern Territory Manager.  Jake comes to KEG from Abbott Enterprises, the family owned Vac-Con distributorship for Tennessee and Kentucky. Jake is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He is married with four children and will be based in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. Jake's duties with KEG began July 1.
Barry Howell, KEG General Manager noted that "we looked long and hard to pick just the right candidate for our territory manager, and Jake had all the right qualifications.  His education, mechanical aptitude, experience as a distributor and contractor, and his overall knowledge of the sewer cleaning industry make him the right choice for KEG.  I am confident our customers will find Jake Abbott to be a valuable resource when selecting KEG products for their sewer or storm water needs."
Mr. Abbott's territory will be eastern Canada, the United States east of the Mississippi River, and the Caribbean Islands.  He will be available for joint sales calls, product demonstrations, product warranty issues, and product and application training.  To contact Jake Abbott, please call his cell phone at 865-740-5559 or email him at jabbott@keg-pipe.com.

  • In honor of this week's All Star game, we celebrate the career of Tom Selleck, pictured at left.  What American League team did Selleck's "Magnum P.I." root for? Hint: he often wore their hat while on his cases.
Selleck also starred in a movie about a Major League player exiled to the Japanese leagues.  What was the name of this movie?

A frequent "cowboy actor" in his career, Selleck starred with another "well mustachioed" actor in the TV adaptation of Louis L'amour's The Shadow Riders. Who was this actor?

An excellent athlete, Tom Selleck qualified for the American team in which Olympic sport?

To become "Thomas Magnum", Selleck had to turn down a movie role that made another well known actor even more famous?  What was this role that would have had Selleck wearing another famous hat?

Finally, Selleck co-starred in the "Three Men and A Baby" movies with Ted Danson.  Danson's character on Cheers, Sam Malone, was a former Boston Red Sox.  What position did "Mayday Malone" play?
